Letter from Meredith

I’m particularly proud of my team of contractors now – the ones I speak to every day and the specialists who jump in and out of projects as needed. When you hit on a great dynamic like this, retention is the name of the game. Here’s how I maintain great professional relationships that lead to long-term partnerships:
Stay Flexible - Unlearning the employer/employee mentality took some doing, but I recognize that flexibility must be baked into a working relationship with a contractor.
Manage Thoughtfully - Well-defined workflows that are clearly communicated at the onboarding stage have been my secret sauce lately. By creating space during kick-off meetings to ensure each team member has time to ask questions, we can accommodate the diverse ways our team likes to work.
Show Appreciation - I regularly acknowledge the contributions of the team and offer praise when it’s due, both for individual contributions and for our team at large. I’m grateful for the crew, and they know it.
