Letter from the President
Dear Leadership Warrior,
In an ideal world, businesses would train managers to equip them with the tools needed to effectively lead teams. In reality, many organizations neglect this step, assuming that a rising star will pick up leadership skills as they advance. I don’t advocate this approach, especially in stressful and uncertain times, but my years in corporate America have taught me that it is widespread.
Chatgpt defines “leadership warrior” as a person who combines strength, determination, and a strategic mindset in their approach to leadership. This individual embodies qualities of a warrior—resilience, courage, and focus—while applying them to the realm of leadership. A Leadership Warrior is someone who battles for the success and growth of their team or organization, always ready to confront challenges head-on, defend their values, and inspire others to follow their lead with conviction.
You are a Leadership Warrior, if you’re preparing to take on director-level responsibilities, or aiming to provide more directive leadership to your existing team. To be successful, start by cultivating self-awareness.
Know your strengths to build a complementary team and delegate work appropriately. Assessments like Insights Discovery are great tools for identifying your strengths and how you contribute to your team.
Clarify your core values to communicate your leadership philosophy and share with your team the kind of leader you want to become. Author and researcher Brené Brown has a section all about values in her popular leadership book Dare to Lead.
Invest in coaching or therapy if you seeking the emotional safety and objectivity in a safe, confidential space to express your frustrations or concerns about self improvement. This is especially helpful if you process things by talking them through.
Executive coaching gives you the ability to gain clarity without the risk of shifting how your workplace or team perceives you while you develop effective communication and leadership skills. Coaching helps you create a strategic career plan while a therapist can help you understand how past trauma affects your current thinking and behavior.

A strong sense of self fosters greater confidence and decisiveness, which in turn cultivates a deeper trust within your team. Taking the time to work on your leadership improves collaboration, team performance, and reduced workplace stress. Becoming more self aware is not the only quality you need to be a great leader, but it is a foundational one.
If you’re ready to invest in your growth and development, I’d love to talk to you about LW’s career coaching services. Schedule a call with me to get started.
